Avanti is the Hamptons’ newest full-service gourmet market for professional and home chefs, party hosts,   local foodies and day-trippers.   Offerings include cut and wrapped-to-order prime meats and poultry,   fresh seafood,   organic produce, artisanal cheeses,   unique grocery products,   a quality delicatessen and prepared foods with sensitivity to vegetarian,   gluten free and other special diets.  

Owners Mike and Sandy DeGennaro,   who also own Southampton Wines at Water Mill Shops and Long Wharf Wines in Sag Harbor,   team up with a talented team of service professonals. The team presents their respective and respected foodie and wine know-how in a one-stop culinary shop for Hamptonites from Sag Harbor,   Southampton, and those traveling via Water Mill to parts further East.   Their vision for Avanti,   as implied by its namesake’s translation from Italian,   is to be one step ahead of patrons’ forward thinking on the subject of good eating. Avanti sources the finest and freshest provisions and delivers expert insights and customer service for a culinary shopping experience second to none.    Inside Avanti is a bright and airy décor with Vermont barn wood-lined walls where one is greeted by an array of fresh produce and flowers in a built-in farm-style stand. Along the perimeter of 3500-square-foot space with 15-foot high ceiling are 68-feet of showcases featuring the freshest seafood,   prime meats,   prepared foods and deli provisions.   Center shelves are stocked with packaged goods and accoutrements from exotic spices to essential kitchen ingredients. Behind the scenes,   and the length of the building,   is an on-premises professional kitchen where their menus of ready-to-eat foods are cooked from scratch daily.    Service is paramount at Avanti with expertly trained staff who can assist in selections, recipes and serving tips.   Avanti is also a moment’s walk from Southampton Wines, for counsel on the best wine pairing with dining selections,  A full schedule of events and tastings are planned for the high season on the upstairs deck.
